Return of the imoutos

NakaImo and KoiChoco have returned from their hiatus, and KoiChoco has returned with a double episode! Next week will be NakaImo’s double episode.

Section 1: Episodes watched today

  • NakaImo 5
  • Polar Bear Cafe 20
  • KoiChoco 5 – 6

Starting with the lone episode, leaving Polar Bear for a breather in between the 2 series.
THE IMOUTO STRIKES BACK! Apparently, there is more than one person with the pink phone, and the imouto is still out there somewhere in the school.
Speaking of moe, I think I’m starting to get numb to it. Simple character-moe types like tsundere and stuff don’t get to me anymore. I only think something is cute when it REALLY is cute, most forced-cuteness are actually not very cute to me. Just normal.

Next: Polar Bear Cafe!
YO SO WE HEARD YOU LIKE PANDAS, SO WE PUT A PANDA ON YOUR PANDA SO YOU CAN EAT BAMBOO WHILE YOU EAT BAMBOO.
Hoping for more development between Handa and Sasako. Sasako’s so nice, Lesser Panda’s so neglected. I think Panda’s an egomaniac that thinks of no one else but himself, but then again that’s what makes the show funny.

Lastly: KoiChoco!
Well, unlike the previous episode, the dark tones in episode 5 were much lesser. However, a lot of focus was put on the romance between the main 2 heroines. And then there were SHAFT references, snakes, crabs, mahou shoujo cosplays, DAT TRAP HOMURA!
In episode 6 we see the results of the election polls. Considering that most of the 100+ election runners aren’t there to run for the election, but just to earn some money through the bazaar, that leaves only 3 people that we know are running the election for seriousness. In all seriousness though, Oojima’s running purpose is like a child throwing a tantrum after his favourite toy gets taken away from him compared to Shinonome’s. Maybe it’s because we know of the seriousness behind the Financial Aid students’ being bullied, but still, I’m wondering wht Shinonome hasn’t used the fact that they are being bullied for her running. Sure this anime is funny, parody here and there, but deep down, it’s related to serious things like bullying and funds diversion, possibly embezzlement. I’m trying to focus on that instead of the simple surface moe-comedy. Simply because many subtle messages are hidden in plain sight.
